GitHub enabled Claude Opus 4.7 inside Copilot chat, agent mode, and the Copilot CLI shortly after Anthropic's April 16 general-availability release. The rollout is gated behind a 7.5x premium request multiplier as promotional pricing until April 30, after which the multiplier adjusts to Copilot's standard bands. Opus 4.7 is pitched at long-horizon agentic tasks and multi-step coding refactors where prior generations drifted. The launch coincides with a Copilot plan restructuring: Pro loses access to Opus tiers, while Pro+ retains Opus 4.7. Engineering teams standardized on Pro seats will see regression in agent capabilities until seat upgrades land. Admins should audit seat assignments and consider adjusting premium-request budgets for heavy agent users before April 30.
