CNCF expands Kubernetes AI Conformance program at KubeCon EU

At KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2026 in Amsterdam, CNCF announced the expansion of the Kubernetes AI Conformance program. The list of certified offerings grew from 18 to 31, adding OVHcloud, SpectroCloud, JD Cloud, and China Unicom Cloud. The program now codifies Kubernetes AI Requirements (KARs) at v1.35, covering agentic workflow validation in addition to baseline AI workload scheduling. For platform teams, the practical signal is portability: certified distributions commit to a common API surface for AI workloads, reducing lock-in when moving training or inference pipelines between clouds. Teams evaluating managed Kubernetes for AI workloads should filter their shortlist by conformance status before committing.
